From mid-December through mid-April, humpback and gray whales migrate thousands of miles to give birth and raise their calves in the warm, sheltered waters off Cabo San Lucas. There is no aquarium, no documentary, no equivalent — only the live, breath-shaking reality of a 40-ton mammal breaching meters from your boat.

Why Cabo for Whale Watching?

The Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez right at Land’s End — creating one of the world’s most concentrated whale corridors. Sightings during peak season (Jan–Mar) approach 95%, with humpbacks, grays, and the occasional blue whale all in the same waters.

What to Expect

Season & Best Times

December 15 – April 15 is the official whale season. February is peak — calves are most active and surface frequently. Morning departures (8–10am) consistently outperform afternoon tours due to calmer seas and better light.
